Terms of Service

Terms of Service

1. Purpose and scope

Genetic Psychiatric Insights is an educational and research tool. It computes polygenic risk scores from consumer DNA files using publicly available GWAS summary statistics. It is not a medical device, not a diagnostic service, and not a substitute for professional clinical evaluation.

2. Acceptance of risk

By uploading a DNA file you acknowledge that the scores and commentary produced are statistical estimates, not medical diagnoses. You accept full responsibility for how you interpret, share, or act on any output from this service. No output from Genetic Psychiatric Insights should be used to make medical decisions without consulting a qualified healthcare professional.

3. No warranty

This service is provided "as is" with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or clinical relevance of any report. Polygenic scores are derived from population-level research and may not reflect individual-level risk.

4. Intended use

Genetic Psychiatric Insights is intended for personal educational exploration and non-commercial research. You agree not to use the service for clinical decision-making, employment screening, insurance underwriting, or any other purpose where inaccurate results could cause harm.

5. Data retention and deletion

Your raw DNA file is deleted automatically as soon as your full report finishes generating, or within 7 days for free-only uploads. Rendered reports are deleted 30 days after upload. We do not archive, back up, or retain copies beyond these windows — see the Privacy Policy for detail. If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you may request early deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected].

6. Payment and refunds

The full 13-trait report is a one-time payment processed through Stripe. The current price is $29 as launch pricing; the regular price is $49 and may be restored at any time. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Because reports are digital and generated on demand, payments are generally non-refundable. If you believe your report was generated in error or the analysis failed after payment, contact [email protected] within 14 days and we will review on a case-by-case basis.

7. Genetic information protections (US)

The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) of 2008 prohibits employers and most health insurers in the United States from using genetic information to make hiring, firing, or underwriting decisions. GINA does not cover life insurance, disability insurance, or long-term care insurance. Consider these protections carefully before sharing your DNA data or the reports you generate here with third parties.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page reflects the most recent revision.

9. Contact

For questions, data deletion requests, or support issues, email [email protected].
